Building Stronger Communities -

Connection, Wellness, and Resilience

Join Us for an Engaging Conversation

At the Savannah Cultural Festival, we’re not just celebrating culture—we’re also coming together to discuss the important issues that impact our communities. Join us for a special community panel titled “Building Stronger Communities: Connection, Wellness, and Resilience,” where we will explore the vital role of connection in promoting mental health, preventing substance abuse, and raising awareness about suicide prevention.

Panel Overview:

  • Date: September 1, 2024
  • Time: 3:00 PM – 3:30 PM
  • Location: Main Stage, Kehoe Iron Works at Trustees’ Garden

What to Expect:

This panel is designed to be an open, welcoming conversation where panelists and attendees can share insights, ask questions, and learn from each other. We’ll discuss practical ways to build stronger connections within our communities, promote wellness, and enhance resilience in the face of challenges.

Topics Covered:

  • Mental Health Promotion: Understanding the importance of mental health and how strong community ties can support emotional well-being.
  • Substance Abuse Prevention: Raising awareness about the dangers of substances like fentanyl, the lifesaving power of Narcan (Naloxone), and how we can all play a role in prevention.
  • Suicide Prevention: Breaking the stigma, recognizing warning signs, and ensuring that everyone knows about resources like the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

A Comfortable and Respectful Space:

We want everyone to feel comfortable during this discussion. Our panelists will be seated on stage in director chairs, so please consider attire that’s both comfortable and appropriate for this setting. We also ask that all discussions remain non-political to maintain a positive and inclusive environment for everyone.

Why Attend?

This is more than just a panel—it’s an opportunity to connect with others in your community, gain valuable knowledge, and take part in a conversation that can make a real difference. Whether you’re new to these topics or have a personal connection, we encourage you to join us and be part of this important dialogue.

We Look Forward to Your Participation!
